The successful candidate will be a strategic individual with 7-10 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience in a rapidly growing start-up environment. This ideal candidate will also have in-depth experience in Professional Services environments. You consider yourself on a CFO career track.

Responsibilities:

Developing and directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to billing, revenue recognition, general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.

Overseeing monthly B/S reconciliations and review as required.

Meet WPP close requirements, including P&L, balance sheet, headcount and all supplemental reporting schedules by required reporting timelines, for monthly, quarterly and annual submissions.

Ensure companies books fully agree with Cartesis submissions. All differences would be tracked, and properly corrected timeously.

Analyzing company’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.

Providing strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.

Developing and coordinating all relationships with holding company finance.

Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.

Coordinating, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Coordinating and/or preparing tax information with the holding comapny.

Managing relationships, directly or indirectly, with insurance providers and ensuring compliance.

Working with WPP tax to ensure compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes not managed through the corporate parent.

Managing timeliness of accounts payable and accounts receivable as part of effective working capital and cash flow management

Ensuring proper internal controls are followed, meeting WPP’s SOX and Control Guidelines and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. You will be required to ensure company makes at least amber status in the first 2 years before meeting requirements for a green rating thereafter.

Building an accounting department as the company grows

Interacting with Wunderman finance and Pierry board of directors.

Other finance and administrative duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

7-10 plus years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.

Experience working in a growing start up environment strongly preferred.

Recent experience scaling a finance operation from inception to at least $40 million in annual revenues.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Experience in a software service (not manufacturing) business with activity-based project costing

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.

Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.

Merger and acquisition finance experience.
